Rotator Cuff Strain or Tear in the Shoulder

Injuries or inflammation in the rotator cuff of the shoulder can cause numerous complications such as limited use of the arm, elbow pain and neck pain.  A thorough evaluation of the condition is necessary to ensure that the problem is being treated properly.  Physical therapy can reduce pain from an inflamed rotator cuff with modalities, massage, stretching and strengthening exercises.  If a patient undergoes a rotator cuff repair surgery, physical therapy is necessary to restore normal function and use of the arm.
