Clearwater Physical Therapy

Ankle Sprain or Fracture

Ankle sprains are often treated with temporary casting in a walking boot, use of crutches and physical therapy to reduce swelling, improve range of motion, improve walking and restore balance and proprioception.  Patients that suffer an ankle fracture are typically seen post-operatively in physical therapy to reduce pain, normalize ankle function, recover normal walking mechanics and train with strengthening activities to allow them to return to their active lifestyles.
